De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde Antipolo opened in October 2017. It’s an institution located in Antipolo, Rizal, in the Philippines. In 2017, it was reported that the tertiary education unit of La Salle College will merge with De La Salle College of Saint Benilde following Benilde's construction of a multistorey building in the city proper of Antipolo that will house college students.
St. John Baptist de La Salle established a network of Christian schools during his lifetime in France. He was named the Patron Saint of Teachers for his legacy of changing educational systems and structures around the globe over a period of four centuries. St. La Salle founded free educational institutions and the group that would later become known as the Brothers of the Christian Schools.
In Auvergne, France, Pierre Romançon was born to a lowly peasant family. He spent 40 years in the classroom because he adored educating kids. When he decided to follow John Baptist de La Salle, he took the name Benilde and had a tremendous ambition to become a Lasallian Brother. Saint Benilde, who is recognized as the patron saint of vocations, inspired numerous young men to enter the priesthood and the convent life because of his deep faith and zeal.
